DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

The Director of Operations will focus on high quality and efficiency with which we deliver safe, industry-leading products and support to our customers, and strive to set the standard for success in our industry.  To help us continue our growth, we’re seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our highly skilled team at our brand new 438,000 sf2 nutraceutical manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City. The successful candidate has proven senior leadership experience in new facility startups, as well as highly dynamic settings with experience leading manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, EHS, and warehousing departments. The Director’s organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second-to-none, and they enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. The Director of Operations will work closely with our executive team to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success at Armada Nutrition.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day operational activities in support of initial and ongoing operations;

MEASURING OPERATOR (B SHIFT 5:00PM - 5:00AM)

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Measuring Operator executes production processes in the Measuring Department and follows proper procedure to meet assigned targets while maintaining employee safety and quality of product.   

  • Complete measuring in an hygienic manner so as to not contaminate product being measured;
  • Ensure that the proper product and quantity is measured out by consulting measuring documentation;
  • Calibrate scales as instructed;

EHS MANAGER

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The EHS Manager will provide environmental, health and safety support to the facility and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.  The EHS Manager will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its permitting applications.  

  • Ensure compliance with established regulations and customer requirements, including GMPs as listed in 21 CFR 111 and 117, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) scheme;
  • Continually analyze and conduct risk management assessments across all areas of the facility to determine and ensure that the company complies with relevant state and federal regulations.  Including but not limited to OSHA, EPA and Fire codes and standards;

  • Support the implementation of new projects and equipment  from an EHS standpoint;

CHEMIST

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Chemist will perform routine operations analytical instrumentation (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC, UV-Vis, FT-IR , DMA, ICP-MS, Protein Analyzer), maintenance and instrument verification, keeping proper records as required by the applicable regulations.

PURCHASING COORDINATOR

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for day to day purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials, compliance with specifications, and containment of costs. All activities are coordinated with the Purchasing Manager. All prescribed duties are conducted in compliance with approved Purchasing Department procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists Category Manager/ Category Specialist in day to day tasks;
  • Obtains supplier confirmation of compliance with specifications, delivery schedule, price and terms;
  • Prepares purchase orders and obtains approval according to established signature authority levels;
  • Places purchase orders and obtains written supplier acknowledgement of all purchasing terms with prescribed deadlines;

CATEGORY MANAGER

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Category Manager works as key member of purchasing management team to ensure we maintain the best value and collaborate cross functionally to set category strategy. Duties include containment of costs, negotiations, relationship management, risk mitigation, and strategic initiatives. All activities are coordinated with the Purchasing Manager. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist drives sustainable continuous improvements within Armada facilities, delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), while building cultural change throughout the organization. The CI Specialist works closely with plant leadership and department employees to achieve results. This position requires strong Lean Manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills, along with a passion for Operational Excellence, to be successful.

  • Facilitate Kaizen events with cross-functional teams to achieve breakthrough improvements;
  • Utilize CI tools and methodologies (including 7 wastes, 5S, standard work, SMED, TPM, VSM, etc.) to drive sustainable operational improvements;
  • Track and analyze the CI process and manufacturing matrices;
  • Coordinate and lead internal audits around Lean principles (5S, standard work, TPM, etc.);
  • Drive process and task standardization through process mapping, standard works, and work instructions;
  • Collaborate with CI admin to generate supporting documentation for all improvement projects;

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Customer Service Representative will provide ideal customer service and assists scheduling through communicating with customers and other internal departments by following through on every aspect of the order.

  • Receives customer purchase orders, provides confirmation to customer, coordinates all purchase order details, enters orders into the database and provides periodic open order reports to customers;
  • After product is produced send customer retains in a timely manner for assigned customers;
  • Coordinate shipment of orders by being a liaison between the warehouse and the customer, secure freight rates for PPA customers, print packing slips and BOL’s;
  • Acknowledge incoming customer calls and email inquiries immediately, and provide answers or ETA for the same NLT end of day. Coordinate answers on shipping and tracking details, credits, schedule related updates, cancellation, adjustments, COA’s and testing release updates;
  • Works with assigned Sales person(s) to help analyze customer sales reports on an ongoing basis, to recognize buying patterns by product as requested;

QA SPECIALIST

The QA Specialist will participate in batch record review, approval and e-filing. Will act as a backup to the finished product coordinator and document control specialist.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

QC LAB TECHNICIAN (Thursday - Monday 8:00am to 4:30pm)

The QC Lab Technician will perform routine operations of organoleptic testing, QC analytical instrumentation (including, but not limited to HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, ICP-MS, DMA, Elementar, Tempo, Vidas) routine maintenance, instrument verification, and maintaining proper records according to appropriate FDA guidelines for Foods and Dietary Supplements.

MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION ENGINEER

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation, with a focus on PLC/HMI systems, communications architecture, and integration with robotics and databases. The successful candidate will have experience in food or pharmaceuticals manufacturing or powder processing, and be able to apply technology that controls and monitors the production and delivery of the company's products. In this role, you will prepare and implement new equipment, as well as troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain the existing automation control hardware and software systems. You will support daily operations to ensure the effectiveness and safety of all equipment, processes, personnel, and associated procedures, with the primary objective of improving and streamlining workflow. This person must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and factory managers with exceptional interpersonal, organizational and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.



Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC/HMI software applications based on given requirements and specifications; install, review, repair and update where needed;
  • Generate/maintain PLC ladder logic with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable using existing programming standards;
  • Generate/maintain aesthetic HMI screens for machinery that provide sufficient feedback for troubleshooting;
  • Develop an understanding of the production machinery and become the in-house expert on control systems operation and troubleshooting (e.g. PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, etc.); Provide training to lower level engineers and maintenance technicians;

  • Interpret electrical and mechanical design drawings for equipment (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks);
  • Research, design, and develop equipment/processes to optimize productivity and workflow;

ENCAP MACHINE OPERATOR

Job Overview

The Encaps Machine Operator is responsible to accurately process blend into a capsule form according to written instruction and in compliance with cGMPs and SOPs.

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (Fri-Sun 5AM-5PM or Fri-Sun 5PM-5AM)

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician performs  a variety of preventive maintenance and machine repair duties according to manufacturer equipment service manuals, factory guidelines, and management’s instructions; in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in the maintenance department and within GMP and ‘food grade work’ guidelines.

  • Adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SOP’s, equipment, and safety practices;

  • Promptly address mechanical breakdown issues, production line adjustment issues, equipment swap-out requirements (lot coders, conveyors, sealing / closure equipment such as bag sealers and capping machines, etc.), identify and assist in resolution of any safety issues in regard to any aspect of the overall facility, production lines and the warehouse;
  • Facilitate and maintain 5-S implementation and ongoing requirements;
  • Assist in projects for facility improvement, capability expansion and efficiency improvements;
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

MATERIAL HANDLER - RAWS/WAREHOUSE (DAY & NIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE)

Location: Spring Hill, TN

The Material Handler- Raws/Warehouse completes raw material pulls and ensures the warehouse is kept organized and clean while maintaining employee safety and quality of product.   

  • Load and unload carriers;
  • Operate forklifts and follow strict forklift safety guidelines;
  • Pull raw ingredient materials according to both the work order and the priority list from the daily production schedule;
  • Staged components in designated areas (staging lanes; return excess components to warehouse as per procedures) using RFSmart to pick product to work orders;
  • Consolidate products on shelves;
  • Clean and organize warehouse floor as required;
  • Process damaged goods;
  • Re-label product, if needed;
  • Fill out paperwork and forms as required (IGIS, PLIGIS, etc.);
  • Be familiar with company policies (such as SOPs) to complete all assignments;
  • Follow all safety procedures;
  • Follow cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
